Our animals
Herolerhof is not a petting zoo but it is still good to have animals on the farm. They simply radiate so much peace and relaxation that you can't help but forget everyday life. Three horses, ten to fifteen calves, the cats (Quinzi and Blacky), and Samy, our house and farm dog are at home at Herolerhof.
Samy is a lovely sweet Golden Retriever and belongs to our farm like the mountains to South Tyrol. He loves our guests and is always looking for a few cuddles. There is also Quinzi, a cat on the farm (who competes with Samy for cuddles) and Blacky, the somewhat more reserved pussycat, who enjoys her life in freedom.
Kira, Blitz, and Vaiolet are the dream team at Herolerhof. In summer, hostess Isolde will gladly take you for a ride on Alpe di Luson/Lüsner Alm and Alpe di Rodengo/Rodenecker Alm. Or you can enjoy the pure presence of our horses while petting, grooming, or riding in the riding arena – that’s enough to really get to know them.
Our calves enjoy life in the warm barn in winter and on the mountain pasture in summer, where they can graze, frolic, and eat all day long. You can't imagine a better life for a cow!
Our animals are fed in the morning and evening. They are always happy to have visitors. There are always interesting conversations to be had with farmer Luis in the stable.
Be a farmer for a day (or two)!
If you would like, you’re most welcome to help us care for the animals. Sounds exciting, doesn't it?
Where does our taste come from?

Horse riding in South Tyrol
On the backs of horses
When horse riding in South Tyrol, you don’t simply enjoy the scenic view of the mountains on horseback, but you also forget stress and everyday worries in no time. Kira, Blitz, and Vaiolet all have very tame and good-natured characters. In summer, hostess Isolde will gladly take you for a ride on Alpe di Luson/Lüsner Alm and Alpe di Rodengo/Rodenecker Alm. Or you can enjoy the pure presence of the horses while petting, grooming, and riding in the riding arena – that’s enough to really get to know them.
